Alsager residents, Adam Boulton and Tom Harvey, have mixed a love for entertaining and cooking for others with a clever business idea.

The two friends have converted a horsebox into a mobile pizza business.

Accountant and trained cabinet maker Tom had always wanted to run his own food business.

As a child, he would often help his mum with her catering business and he and Adam both enjoy getting stuck into projects.

Adam, who runs a fire door and fire maintenance business, has worked on the business's website and social media.

And their newly launched idea, Nice Dough, which is only a month old, is already a big hit at local events.

"We've only done a couple of events but the feedback has been amazing and we've had lots of nice comments," said Tom.

"We're keeping it simple to start with and trying to do what we do well. We were at Alsager Cricket Club for an event and then got invited back for a second event.

"It's not necessarily about money. It's about building something we are proud of and giving a nice experience."

Both their wives, Rachel and Kirsty, help out with the business, which can literally be set up in the middle of a field to serve pizzas.

Tom said: "We've designed the horse box so it can be transported anywhere and we can start serving pizzas

"We've had a lot of late nights getting the box ready and fitting it out with what is needed."

The two gutted the horse box, and installed a fully functioning kitchen with power and hot and cold running water.

There are solar panels on the roof and even pretty wallpaper to finish off their mobile kitchen.

Two high-quality gas fired pizza ovens are used to cook the hand-crafted pizzas in an area beside the horse box.

"We did great at the first event, and are so pleased with the support. They cook in 60 – 90 seconds in the ovens and each one is made to order," said Adam.

"We use fresh ingredients. There's such a difference with a freshly made pizza compared with one you've just taken out of the freezer."
