Person in hospital with 'life-threatening' injuries after being struck by train

A person is in hospital with injuries believed to be "life-threatening," after being hit by a train on the Sandbach to Crewe line.
On Monday 29 January, emergency services received reports of an incident at Crewe Railway Station.
At around 7am, British Transport Police, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service and North West Ambulance Service arrived at the scene.
Emergency services discovered a person had been hit by a train on the Sandbach to Crewe line as it was coming into the station.
The person was rescued and taken into the care of paramedics.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: "Officers were called to Crewe Railway Station at around 7am on Monday 29 January, following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended and a person has been taken to hospital for treatment to injuries which are believed to be life-threatening.
"This incident is not being treated as suspicious."
Rail services in the area of the incident were affected for around one hour.
An Avanti West Coast statement read: "Services are able to resume running through Crewe station as the lines have reopened after they were blocked.
"Alterations and delays to journeys are still expected, so please continue to check your journey before you travel."
