Driver arrested after pedestrian, 40, hit by car near Alsager

A pedestrian in currently in hospital with "serious injuries" after being hit by a car near Alsager, with the driver arrested on suspicion of careless driving.

At 10:58pm on Saturday 8 June, police were called to a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Radway Green Road, Barthomley.

The pedestrian, a 40-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries and remains in a "poorly condition."

The driver, a 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving (Cheshire Police).

He has since been released under investigation, pending further enquiries.

Inspector Steve Griffiths said: "We would urge anyone who was in the area and witnessed the collision but has not yet spoken o police to contact us.

"The same goes for anyone who has dashcam or other footage of the collision."

He driver has been released under investigation, pending further enquiries (Cheshire Police).
