Members of an Alsager cycling club have launched a fundraising campaign to cycle 100 miles in memory of an Alsager pub landlord who sadly passed away from pancreatic cancer.
Every Sunday in November, Alsager Harlequins Cycling Club is organising a 25 mile bike ride starting from The Lodge in Crewe Road at 9.30 am.
And they are urging as many people as possible to sign up for the event and raise as much money as possible for Pancreatic Cancer UK in memory of Carl Smith.

Pete Weatherburn, chair of Alsager Harlequinns CC said: "We're raising money in memory of Carl, the landlord of The Lodge Inn in Alsager, who passed away recently following a short illness with this terrible disease.

"We've already signed up a number of people from the pub and but are still looking for more, so if you feel up to cycling 100 miles in November and you're in Alsager please let us know."
He added: "£100 could allow researchers to carry out detailed genetic studies of 10 people, helpling them to identify faulty genes that increase the risk of pancreatic cancer
"£180 could fund three reusable tubes for collection breath samples at the GP surgery from people who have symptoms that may be pancreatic cancer. £261 could fund one day of cutting-edge research."
Alsager Harlequins CC has set up a fundraising Facebook page here for the event.
