Alsager's Member of Parliament will not reveal who she is voting for to be the next prime minister.

Just days after Rishi Sunak visited Cheshire, Fiona Bruce MP has reaffirmed her commitment to not disclose who she is voting for as the next Tory leader.

The Conservative MP, who has represented the constituency of Congleton since 2010, will not reveal if she is voting for Liz Truss or Rishi Sunak.

Following a request for comment from Nub News, Fiona replied: "From the outset of this contest I said I would keep my views private.

"It is a prerogative which many MPs take."

Public interaction between Fiona and the two candidates has been minimal. In November, Fiona had been praised by then-Chancellor Rishi Sunak.

Truss also hosted a recent conference related to Fiona Bruce's Ministerial Role as the Prime Minister's Special Envoy for Freedom of Religion or Belief.

Unverified sources online state that Liz Truss and Fiona Bruce are allies, however, there is no evidence to support this claim.

It is not known if Fiona will hope to continue her special role, held since December 2020, under either candidate.
