An opening date has been announced for the new high-end 'Japanese dining experience' in Alsager.

The eagerly awaited The Vault is due to officially open on September 11th but on-line bookings for the exciting new venue are opening this Saturday (August 27th).

Head chef is Adam Steele who has worked at Michelin starred venues and for the Queen at Buckingham Palace.

Building work transforming the town's former Barclays Bank in Crewe Road into The Vault has been taking place for a while.

And the countdown to the new venue, described as `Japanese social dining', is in its final stages as last minute preparations for its menu take place. 

Between 15 and 20 jobs have been created at the new dining and cocktail destination. 

A new double storey extension on the rear and a front extension has been added to the building.

Work has been taking place on transforming the former Barclays Bank into The Vault for a while

The bank was the last to close in the town, remaining empty for more than three years.

The bar and restaurant has been named The Vault in reference to its former use.

Part of Caster's of Cheshire Group, which also owns Caster's in Lawton Road, Bradley Lancaster, of the Caster's group, appointed Daniel Matthias Architecture, to work in partnership with him to transform the building.

A spokesperson for The Vault said: "It's going to be a totally unique type of dining experience.

"We wanted to create somewhere luxurious with a different type of food. It's all coming together at the right time and we're on target.

"There will be some cross over between Caster's and The Vault. Maddy Aston is moving from Caster's to The Vault to be bar manager. "

Initially, The Vault will open Thursday to Sundays and will offer "small plates" of Japanese-style food.

Head chef, Adam Steele, has worked both in this country and overseas and as well as working at Buckingham Palace, he has also worked at Peckforton Castle in Cheshire.
