Nature reserve throws open the doors for an open day for families to learn new skills

A nature reserve near Alsager is throwing open the doors next weekend with an open day for families.  

Hassall Green Nature Reserve has a family open day on Saturday, September 14th and there is a chance to learn about the 'Green Angels Project' based at the reserve. 

The free family event will allow all members of the family to join in with some environmentally focused crafts to connect with nature.  

Hassall Green Nature Reserve is a two hectare site opened by the Land Trust  in  2014 – to become a haven for wildlife. 

Green Angels, whose website is here , offers people the chance to learn new skills, change your future prospects and make a difference to the community.  

At the open day, there will be chance to take part in:  

 

  • Dry Stone Walling tasters 
  • Willow Weaving 
  • Natural Crafts 
  • Wild cooking 
  • Bushcraft skills 
  • Mindfulness sessions 
  • Wildlife explorer's 
  • Drumming circles 
  • Yoga tasters 
  • Face Painting 

  

Rebecca Mooney, Green Angels Project Officer, The Land Trust said: "Our famous cake stand and refreshments will also be returning. Any pennies raised at our refreshment stand will be donated to two local conservation organisations. 

  "We can't wait to see Hassall Green buzzing with excitement."
