Crewe's MP has met with UK Health Secretary - ensuring the proposed rebuild of Leighton Hospital is at the top of his priorities list.

Dr Kieran Mullan has been campaigning, alongside other MPs and stakeholders, for Leighton to get a full rebuild for some time.

Last week, the Crewe and Nantwich MP met up with Health Secretary, Steve Barclay - pushing for the redevelopment.

Leighton Hospital has developed full-costed plans which can be completed - while remaining open to carry out its vital work.

Residents can support the Crewe MP in this campaign by signing his online petition and sharing positive stories and experiences of Leighton.

Dr Mullan said: "I have been pushing the case for a rebuild of Leighton Hospital to the Government for some time.

"Leighton Hospital has benefited from several big investments such as new theatres and other facilities.

Leighton Hospital's new A&E facility was offically opened by former health secretary, Sajid Javid, in February (Ryan Parker).

"Most recently £15 million was invested into a new A&E building. These add-ons and investments, however, can only take us so far.

"What the hospital needs a fundamental rebuild so that it can better meet the needs of our growing and aging local population.

"I will continue to take every opportunity to make this the case for this project to the Government."

Crewe and Nantwich MP, Dr Kieran Mullan, believes Leighton Hospital's add-ons and investments can only take us so far (Mid Cheshire Hospitals).
