Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has ranked in the top five of Acute NHS Trusts in the North West in four of the six categories in the latest Patient-Led Assessments of the Care Environment (PLACE) results.

The annual assessments see local patient representatives go into hospitals to assess the environment in categories ranging from overall cleanliness and building maintenance through to disability access and ward food.

This focus on quality is at the heart of our own Trust Quality Strategy, emphasising how we work together to provide high quality, compassionate care for every person, every time. A strong theme throughout our strategy is dignity for our patients, ensuring everyone in our care feels respected, and valued.

Laura Egerton, Deputy Chief Nursing Officer at Mid Cheshire, said: "We are thrilled not only to build on last year's achievements and exceed the national average in every category, but to rank top five in four of the six categories across Acute Trusts in the North West.

"These results reflect the dedication and hard work of our teams across all sites. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all staff whose efforts have contributed to these improvements. • Food Score: 96.26% (National Average: 91.32%)

• Privacy, Dignity and Wellbeing Score: 95.41% (National Average: 88.22%)

• Condition Appearance and Maintenance Score: 99.45% (National Average: 96.36%)

• Dementia Score: 89.38% (National Average: 83.66%)

• Disability Score: 88.69% (National Average: 85.20%)
