Little Delilah Hammond can be forgiven for being a bit excited at the moment - the talented Alsager seven-year-old is about to make her stage debut in 'Made in Dagenham' in Crewe.

The youngster, a pupil at Pikemere School in Alsager playing the leading lady's daughter in Crewe Amateur Musicals Society's production of the famous 1960s equal rights production, which starts next week.

But the youngster, who loves thing more than acting, will have plenty of support when she treads the boards for her mum, Victoria Hammond (42), is also in the show.

She said: "It's a great show and we've all put so much time and effort into it. Delilah is really excited and we're thrilled that she's taking part."

The production turns back the clock to 1968 and a strike is about to start at car giant Ford's Dagenham plant.
