Alsager dad, Lee Beresford, was so fed up with the number of potholes in the road near his home that he's taken the matter into his own hands.

Lee who lives near Dunnocksfold Road went out and bought £160 worth of Tarmac from B & Q to temporarily fix the potholes in the road.

He says the family's horsebox doesn't drive smoothly over the road and he has had to replace a burst tyre on his Abbey Gas van costing £300 due to damage from the potholes.

"It only took me a couple of hours on Sunday to do this and I got a lot of positive comments from people walking or driving by," said Lee.

"It's only a temporary fix until Cheshire East Council can do it properly. They have been reported but people have got fed up of waiting.

"I didn't bother trying to claim for my burst tyre. There's no point. They make it so difficult. I just went out and bought the Tarmac and got on with the job."

Lee reckons he's filled about 25 potholes in Dunnocksfold Road and there are a further four or five still to fill.

He said: "I did the same thing last year in Close Lane. People are fed up of driving over potholes and trying to avoid them.

"They make the horsebox rattle and then this upsets the horse. Lots of people have commented about the number of potholes in this road.

"It's just so bad driving down there. Something had to be done. I had a few comments on Facebook so I haven't gone and got any more bags to carry on. I'll just leave it at that."

What do you think? Is your road full of potholes and what are you doing about it?
