Alsager's Thirteen Club is used to having bands and singers blasting melodic tunes out at its Cedar Avenue building.

The popular entertainment venue regularly hosts tribute acts and bands to packed audiences and attracts audiences from wide and far.

But there was something a little different about one 'gig' it staged this week and it involved a local premier club and a lot of silverware!

The popular entertainment venue was hired out by the Crewe branch of Manchester City Supporters' Club to display the silverware.

Steve Johnson, manager and secretary of The Thirteen Club, pictured above said: "The secretary and treasurer of the local supporters' club approached me to see if they could use our function room to put the Manchester City's silverware on display for the enjoyment of the branch members and their guests.

"Of course I agreed. The were delivered by a security firm and five big minders on Tuesday just before I opened the doors. We had about 90 people in attendance.

"There were five trophies (F.A. Cup, Premiership Champions, European Champions Cup, Super Cup Winners and the FIFA Champions of the World Cup) on our stage for the crowd to enjoy. What a great night!"
