Man arrested after rooftop incident in village near Alsager

A man was arrested yesterday (Sunday) and remains in police custody after an incident on the roof of a house in Rode Heath near Alsager. 

A spokesperson from Cheshire Police said: "At around 11.48 am on Sunday 29 July, police responded to an incident in Beech Avenue, Rode Heath. 

"Attending the scene, officers found a man climbed onto the roof of the address and refused to engage with officers.

"Specialist officers were deployed to the scene and the man, a 33-year-old from Crewe was arrested by officers at around 3.33 pm on suspicion of affray and assault of an emergency worker. 

"He remains in police custody at this time." 

Another photo sent in by Nub News reader who didn't want to be named showing tiles and a car.

Photographs sent to Nub News show damage to the roof of the house following the incident.

Others appear to show tiles on the ground and damage to a vehicle.

Nub News understands villagers rallied round to supply tarpaulin to cover the roof and other items following the incident.
