It's the second day of strike action by consultants and hospital bosses at Leighton are urging patients to keep their appointments unless they have been rescheduled.

The British Medical Association announced strikes by hospital consultant from 7 am yesterday (Thursday) until 7 am tomorrow (July 22nd).

It follows a walkout of junior doctors from 7 am on July 13th until 7 am on July 18th as Alsager Nub News revealed here

A spokesperson from Mid Cheshire Hospital NHS Foundation Trust said: "We will contact you in advance if your appointment needs to be rescheduled.

"If you have not heard from us, please come to your appointment as planned – you do not need to contact us.

"Emergency care and other critical services will be open as usual and people should always call 999 or attend A&E in the event of a life or limb threatening emergency. Please do not hesitate to come forward to access care if you need it.

"We're urging people to make NHS 111 Online their first port of call if they need urgent health advice on days of strike action."

They say NHS 111 Online can tell you:

  • Where to get help for your symptoms
  • How to find general health information and advice
  • Where to get an emergency supply of your prescribed medicine
  • How to get a repeat prescription.
