Yesterday (Sunday) hundreds turned up to see the Christmas lights being switched on in Alsager.

The lights were switched on at 6 pm but before that people turned out to see the Christmas market which opened at 4 pm.

The event was organised by Alsager Round Table and it was bigger and better than ever before with live music on stage, children's entertainment and the traditional fairground rides.

There was also the firework display which lit up the sky as the lights were switched on the Christmas tree.
