A prominent Alsager town centre building has gone back on the market and a new tenant is being sought.

The former Bank Corner pub and live music venue in Lawton Road closed after Mother's Day in March.

A sign then appeared saying the 'Hatchlings' nursery was opening on April 11th but the nursery never opened.

Cheshire police launched an investigation into criminal damage as Nub News revealed here after windows were smashed and glass left on the veranda part of the building.

Now the landlord, Sandyford Property Investments, has taken possession of the building and a spokesperson said it has going back on the market.

"The nursery isn't going ahead and we're currently looking for a new tenant," the spokesperson said.

"It's been passed over to Louis Taylor and it's going back on the market."

The Bank Corner in Lawton Road had been an entertainment venue and pub in the town for many years.

It closed it doors for the final time in March after a Mother's Day event featuring an Elvis entertainer.
