Firefighters from Alsager attended M6 accident involving a minibus and a car

Firefighters from Alsager went to an accident on the M6 between junctions 16 and 17 after a collision between a minibus and a car.

Two lanes of the M6 northbound were closed for part of yesterday (Thursday) following the accident.

One fire engine from Alsager and two from Crewe went to the accident at 6.53 am.

 A Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: "The collision involved one minibus and one car.

"Crews used extrication equipment to remove a door of the car and release a passenger and hand them into the care of paramedics.

"Police, ambulance and national highways officers were also in attendance at the scene. Lanes one and two were closed while the incident was dealt with."
