A Rode Heath man has been charged with possessing an offensive weapon in a public place in Sandbach.

Police say the incident happened following reports of a suspicious vehicle near The Hill.

A spokesperson from Cheshire Police said: "At 2.30pm on Thursday 3 September, police received a report of a suspicious vehicle near The Hill, Sandbach.

"Patrols managed to locate the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. A weapon was located inside the vehicle near the driver, and he was arrested.

"The male, 53 from Rode Heath, was charged with possessing an offensive weapon in a public place."

Michael Kozlowski, of Keats Drive, Rode Heath, has been bailed and is set to appear at Crewe Magistrates' Court on Monday, 5 October.
