For those residents who are sad that this year Wesley Place Methodist Church will not be able have their Christmas Tree Festival, organisers have shared some positive news.

Residents can still take part and enjoy seeing all the trees on a screen at the front of the church.

If you are a business or organisation or even a family and you want your tree to be part of the festival, you need to do the following:

- Decorate the tree in your setting.

- Send one or two photographs together with the name of your tree and any message and contact details you may want to add to [email protected]

- It will then be added to the video display of previous festivals that is already running.

- If you want your tree to appear on Wesley Place's website too, let Jan know when emailing her.

Due to the latest lockdown, Wesley Place Methodist Church were unable to have Christmas trees delivered and collected as planned.

Every year, the annual Christmas Tree Festival has a Memory Tree where prayers or memories can be placed, in return a donation for a chosen charity is appreciated.

At the end of November, there will be an opportunity to put memories, names or prayers on the Wesley Place Church Facebook page. These messages will be there for all of the community to see.

The Memory Tree is used to raise money for a particular charity. This year the group have decided that it would be appropriate for it to be NHS Charities Together.

There is a Just Giving page available for anyone who wishes to donate.

Before the Covid-19 pandemic, each year at the end of November, Wesley Place Methodist Church opened its doors to thousands of visitors for its annual Christmas Tree Festival.

The Christmas Tree Festival is one of the highlights of Alsager's street fair, which traditionally accompanied the turn on of the Christmas lights in the village.
