Alsager Carnival will take place this weekend, and raise money for future editions of the annual event.

The theme this year is celebrating 100 years of Disney. But it is also 25 years since the charity event began.

The Milton Park event will take place on on Saturday 17th June, and is organised by Alsager Round Table.

Organiser Nick Heath told Alsager Nub News what to expect:

There's over 30 stalls at this Saturday's event.

"We've got a parade, one of our biggest ever parades actually, gathering in Asda car park in the morning for a 12noon start," he said.

"The route takes them along Lawton Road, Sandbach Road North, Lodge Road, Church Road and Crewe Road to get to Milton Park at about 1245pm. Rolling road closures are in place.

"In the park, we have food, drink and craft stalls along with the annual dog show, charity stalls, some children's fairground rides and a bouncy castle.

"The other three groups in the Round Table family are also involved.

"Alsager's Ladies Circle and Tangent are providing tea, coffee and cake and The 41 Club is hosting the beer tent - all proceeds from those stalls help fund future carnivals

"In the arena, we have dancing from Studio S, Aimee Sports and two performances from Dangerous Steve."

Road closures begin from 11:30am, so if you are heading around town by car make sure your errands are done before then.

The Disney theme pays homages to previous years, where many Disney characters will have made cameos, such as the 2006 fairytale theme and musicals in 2007.

As well as organising events such as this weekend's, Alsager Roundtable raises money for good causes and distributes them through the community.

Alsager Roundtable Membership is open to men aged 18-45, and more information can be obtained by visiting the Roundtable gazebo at the carnival or by contacting their Facebook page.
