Councillor left "angered" after discovering broken wine glasses near Alsager beauty spot

A councillor was "angered" to discover broken wine glasses had been left near an Alsager beauty spot which endangered water birds and children.

Jane Smith, an Alsager Town Councillor, who represents the Animal Welfare Party, found the broken glass at the open space at Coronation Gardens, which is on Sandbach Road North yesterday, despite their being bins only two feet away.

The open space is a little seating and flowered area that goes down to the Mere.

Cllr Smith told Nub News: "I was just so angry that people would do this where water birds congregate, not to mention young children playing."
