Collapsed sinkhole in Alsager town centre connected to a United Utilities sewer line

Following an investigation into the cause of a collapsed sinkhole in Alsager town centre, it was identified that there was a problem with the connection of a United Utilities sewer line.

A Cheshire East Council spokesperson claimed that United Utilities will be attending the site in due course to carry out repairs.

Four-way temporary traffic signals remain in place at Crewe Road.
