A recently reopened pub near Alsager is set to have two special visitors tomorrow (Tuesday) - two of the few remaining working shire horses in the British brewing industry.

Bobek and Mojo will be paying a visit tomorrow afternoon during half-term to the Lawton Arms in Church Lawton.

The pub, part of Robinsons, recently reopened after a major refurbishment and put in a request to the brewery for the horses to pay them a visit.

Ian Parker, Lawton Arms spokesperson said: "We're delighted to be having a visit from Bobek and Mojo.

"We're absolutely delighted our request was approved.

"It's a real treat to have the horses visit us and we're encouraging anyone with children to come along and have their photograph taken with them."

The horses are due at the pub in Liverpool Road West, Church Lawton at 2pm.

The Lawton Arms also launched a new menu last week and is serving food between 12 noon and 9pm.

Stockport-based Robinsons has had shire horses for the last 100 years.
