The operations manager of a pub group has returned to his roots to brew up success with a pub which reopened its doors today after a major refit.

Ian Parker, who works for the Stevenson Pub Co, spent most of his youth in Alsager, and was delighted to step in with the Lawton Arms in Church Lawton.

The Robinson owned pub reopened today (October 15th) after being closed for a month after the Stevenson Pub Co took over its lease.

The popular pub has had a major make-over in Robinsons' style and 10 jobs have been created in the process, six of which have already been filled.

Finishing touches are being added to an impressive menu and food will be served at the pub from next Friday (October 22nd).

Ian said: "I started my pub career in Alsager and came into the Lawton Arms a few times to drink years ago.

"When were approached about taking it over we saw it as an ideal opportunity. There's lots of room inside and it's a great location.

"We'll be bringing fine food and fine ales which is what we're known for."

Managing director of the Stevenson Pub Co, Neil Stevenson, said it is the seventh pub added to the company's portfolio.

They already run pubs in Macclesfield, Bakewell and Buxton and are set to take on an eighth in Sandbach in early November.

Neil said: "The Lawton Arms is surrounded by a nice community, has a lovely warm, welcoming feel inside and we're delighted to add it to the business."

Four positions are still available at the Lawton Arms covering a range of jobs from bar staff, waiting on staff and kitchen porters.

Further details can be obtained by emailing Ian at [email protected] or calling him on 07572 433085.
