Car fire in Lawton Heath thought to have been started deliberately

Firefighters from Alsager went to a car on fire in Lawton Heath in the early hours of today (Monday)

One fire engine from Alsager went to the blaze at 3.31 am at Cherry Lane/Sandbach Road.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "One vehicle was well alight on the junction of Cherry Lane and Sandbach Road.

"Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used a hose reel jet to put the fire out.

"They then dampened down the area. Police were also in attendance as it is believed the fire was started deliberately."
