Brew-tiful dreams: Alsager baristas set sights on championship glory tomorrow
By Deborah Bowyer 17th Jul 2026
Two baristas from Alsager hope to be brewing up success when they compete in the finals of a prestigious coffee competition tomorrow (Saturday).
Tom Bailey and King Tang, who work at Home Coffee in Lawton Road are taking part in the English AeroPress Championship 2026 in London.
They will be competing against 13 other baristas from all over the country after King came third in the Birmingham heat last month and Tom third in the Manchester heat in April.
Alex and Nikki Melhuish, owners of Home Coffee said: "It's a fantastic achievement for two amazing people who really care about their craft.
"We wish them the best of luck tomorrow but feel very proud whatever the outcome. We're extremely grateful that they bring their passion for coffee to our bar at Home Coffee every week."
But that's not Home Coffee's only claim to fame. The business is a finalist in the Cheshire Life food and drink awards.
