A giant cabbage, cakes, flowers, vegetables galore and handicraft were all on show at the Alsager Gardens Association's annual show.

And the event, the 70th, attracted entries from outside the association as well as many members of the association.

He said the event showcased the wonderful work of keen gardeners and others taking part.

Trophies and prizes were presented by the chair of Alsager town Council, Cllr Jane Hearne.

Show secretary, Simon Robertson, said entrants were carrying on the legacy of the longstanding event.

Several initiatives were used to reduce the carbon footprint including reusable table cloths made from recycled tyres and the show schedule sent out by email.
