Baking success: Alsager student's clever canine cakes pave path to Africa

An Alsager School sixth-form student has launched a business making 'pupcakes' for four legged friends to raise money for a school trip of a lifetime.
Seventeen-year-old Tia Bradbury is making dog friendly cupcakes and birthday cakes for a school trip to help children in Tanzania next summer.
And the animal-loving teenager, who wants to be a paedriatric nurse when she finishes her 'A' Levels, is using every event she can to help push her campaign to raise £5,000 for the trip.

"We have to raise £5,000 and I've already raised £2,500," said Tia from Gowy Close. "I love animals and came up with the idea of producing healthy snacks for the family's two dogs, Bella and Bailey.
Tia has already done an event at Alsager Cricket Club and another at the dog show at Alsager Civic last weekend and now she's hoping to attend more in the future.
"I've researched ingredients to use for dog friendly products. They are all animal proof. We're going out to Tanzania for four weeks next July to volunteer for work with children.

"When I was ill in hospital a while back the nurses were so lovely and it's then I decided I wanted to be a paedriatric nurse," said Tia. "I never buy treats for the dogs without researching what's in them first.
"Everything in the dog cakes is safe for them to eat."
Tia has a few dates lined up to sell her 'Pupcakes' including Alsager Christmas lights-switch on and has launched a Facebook page here 'Pupcakes by Tia
