An Alsager pub has made it into the latest edition of  The Campaign for Real Ale's (CAMRA) Good Beer Guide.

The Guide, which surveys 4,500 of the best pubs across the UK, is the definitive beer drinker's guide for those seeking the best pints in the nation's pubs.

The Lodge Inn in Crewe Road was named the CAMRA South Cheshire Pub of the Year 2023 is in the guide as we revealed i this story here

It's two years since The Lodge was taken over by new owners, Sarah and Carl Smith.

The Good Beer Guide says of The Lodge: "A homely and dog-friendly two-roomed pub that has free dog biscuits and a real fire in the left-hand room.

"Popular with locals and visitors alike, it offers a warm welcome and a wonderful atmosphere.

"It houses Sunday sessions of the Alsager Music Festival in a large beer garden. Large cold pork pies are available.

"The pub is well served by local transport and there is a public car park at the rear. Its website features a digital beer board that shows current beers on sale."

CAMRA Chairman Nik Antona said: "The last few years have been an incredibly difficult time for the industry, and we need more support than ever before to keep our nation's pubs and breweries open and thriving.

"I'd encourage everyone to use this year's Guide to visit the very best pubs and breweries across the UK and support them for generations to come."
