A group of talented women who meet weekly at Bod Alsager to crochet and practise their talents have produced an amazing topper for St George's Day today (Tuesday).

The topper – produced in just two days - has been placed on the post box outside Bod Alsager in Crewe Road complete with St George's flag and a dragon.

A spokesperson from the group who meet every Monday morning at Bod Alsager said: "We found a pattern for a dragon, and Rebecca started on him. I did a base to fit the box that already has a topper on by the pet shop.

"We put out that we needed a George. As we had no George it was suggested we put it on hold for next year – a shame when the dragon was half made.

"So I set about making a George. I didn't have a pattern but looked at a picture of a St George.

"Made a new base for a post box outside Bod Alsager. The topper has been completed in just two days!"

Well done to the group! Have you seen their amazing work outside Bod Alsager?
