Alsager's rapid response unit tackles garage blaze wearing breathing apparatus

A fire engine and the rapid response unit from Alsager went to a blaze in a garage near Sandbach.

The fire broke out at around 3.59 pm yesterday (Tuesday) at the property in Congleton Road, Smallwood.

A Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Wearing breathing apparatus, they used a hose reel jet to bring the fire under control and then checked for hotspots to ensure there would be no reignition."
