A Remembrance Poppy painted on the road in Alsager has been repainted – thanks to an Alsager councillor.
Chair of Alsager Town Council and Alsager district councillor Phil Williams is delighted the poppy in Sandbach Road South close to the cenotaph has been given a fresh coat of paint.
Cllr Williams said: "I approached Highways to ask if it could be refreshed and they agreed and put it on the works schedule alongside other line painting work in that paint of town.
"'I am sure that many residents will be delighted to see that the Remembrance Poppy has been restored and refreshed on the road opposite the cenotaph.
"Cheshire East Highways promised to do so before the annual Remembrance Day parade in November and they have fulfilled that undertaking.
"The poppy is clean and fresh and looks very impressive with the motto, 'Lest we forget.' I am very grateful to residents for bringing this to my attention and to the Highways team for fitting it into their schedules in such a timely way."
