A new high-end dining and drinking experience in Alsager is a step closer - after advertising for staff.

Building work transforming the town's former Barclays Bank in Crewe Road into The Vault is moving on fast.

A new double storey extension on the rear and a front extension has been added to the building.

And an application has also been made to Cheshire East Council for a premises licence which includes the supply of alcohol and recorded and live music.

No date has been given for the opening but a comment on The Vault's Facebook page says they are hoping "to open in early September".

The bank was the last to close in the town, remaining empty for more than three years. The bar and restaurant has been named The Vault in reference to its former use.

Part of Caster's of Cheshire Group, which also owns Caster's in Lawton Road, Bradley Lancaster, of the Caster's group, appointed Daniel Matthias Architecture, to work in partnership with him to transform the building.

The Vault promises to "unlock a new cocktail experience with top-of-the-range mixology, delivering contemporary international cuisine, fusing traditional flavour with modern cooking methods and techniques".

The Vault is advertising on their Facebook page for a Sous Chef, kitchen porter, bartender, waiting on staff and a Chef de Partie.
