Alsager's MP, Fiona Bruce, looks set to stand for parliament in the next General Election.
MPs had to make a decision this month about whether they are stepping down in the next election., likely to be in 2024.
Congleton MP, Fiona Bruce, whose constituency covers Alsager, has confirmed her intentions to Nub News.
She said: "MPs have been asked to indicate if they will be stepping down at the next General Election and I have given no such indication."
Fiona Bruce is the Prime Minister's Special Envoy for Freedom of Religion or Belief, which she was appointed to in December 2020.
She became a Member of Parliament for Congleton in 2010. She has focused on championing individual freedoms and human rights, both in this country and abroad.
She served on the International Development Select Committee for four years and chaired the Parliamentary sub-committee overseeing the Independent Commission on Aid Inspections.
Her other positions include co-chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for North Korea and vice-chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Freedom of Religion or Belief.
