Alsager Civic holds regular indoor car boot sales but the one in December is set to have a different look.

Is your wardrobe overflowing or do you have good quality children's items that need another home?

The December car boot is organised independently of Kidora which brings together a Parent Hub with family ideas and information, alongside a Family Places directory covering more than 6,500 locations across the UK.

The aim is to help parents not only buy or sell children's things but to find ideas for everyday family life as well.

The one in Alsager takes place on Sunday, 6 December from 9am until noon. People with overflowing wardrobes and children's toys can book a stall, while shoppers can come along in search of bargains.

Stallholders can set up from 8am, with tables advertised at £10 and the café will be open during the sale.

A Kidora spokesperson said: "For parents, the appeal of a second-hand sale is often simple. A child might be delighted by a puzzle, a stack of picture books or a dressing-up outfit, regardless of whether it has previously belonged to another family. It is the usefulness and enjoyment of a gift that matter, not necessarily its original packaging.

"There is a practical reason to think this way as Christmas approaches. Children's interests can change quickly. The toy that was played with constantly last winter might be sitting untouched now, while another child of the same age would happily give it a second life. Buying preloved can also leave more room in the family budget for days out, food and other festive expenses.

"Alsager already has a tradition of shopping locally. The Civic's regular Wednesday indoor market gives residents another reason to visit the town centre.

"An occasional car boot sale offers something different again: the chance to browse items that people no longer need. Neither needs to replace conventional shops; all can be part of how families manage their spending."
