An Alsager youngster who has spent the last year braiding hair in her spare time for charity has raised a bumper £1,050 for Children in Need.

Dance-loving Marci Brown has used her finely-tuned hairdressing skills to raise money for other children using the tag, 'Braiding for Pudsey'.

And Marci who learnt her plaiting skill as a five-year-old watching her favourite Disney film, Rapunzel, has handed over the money to BBC Children in Need.

Marci, who attends Alsager School, said previously: "I just love braiding hair. I can do it with my eyes closed. It's something I enjoy doing."

Mum, Laura Evans, said Marci, came up with the idea after watching BBC Children in Need.

"She asked us what she could do to help other children. She's always been good at braiding hair - it started watching the Rapunzel film on TV when she was little," said Laura.

"We're so proud of her. She's doing so well and really enjoys it. People even come to our house to have their hair braided. All the money goes to BBC Children in Need."

Marci's amazing skills can be seen on her website here and her Instagram page here
