Alsager Town Council said the closure is necessary for the Alsager 5 Mile to take place safely and will take place between 10.15 am and 12.15 on Sunday 1 February 2026.

"If you have any enquiries relating to the works please contact [email protected]," said Alsager Town Council.

The race stills starts and finishes in Pikemere Road - a five minute walk from Alsager Leisure Centre. The number of entries has grown and grown and there is now a 1,000 limit.

This race not only attracts local runners but also runners from outside the area, many travelling far and wide to take part.

An Alsager 5 spokesperson said previously: "We rely on the goodwill of residents and businesses to put on a local community event that encourages good health and wellbeing.
