Do you love watching Wimbledon and fancy trying out the sport and learning more?

Alsager Tennis Club has an open day this weekend and is inviting families to get a taste of the sport.

The club, off Sandbach Road North, is hosting a fun-filled event for people of all ages on Saturday (June 24th).

Visitors will be able to try their hand at tennis on one of the club's four TigerTurf courts, with one court dedicated for youngsters to play.

There will also be a number of tennis-themed games, as well as speed gun to see who can hit the fastest serve on the day. Club coach Chris Hancock will also be on hand to give some tips.

The event, which runs from 1pm until 5pm, will also see members of Alsager's league teams take part in an exhibition match.

Away from the tennis, 1st Alsager Scout Group will be running a BBQ and there will be cakes and ice creams on sale and there are plans for a gin and craft ale stand.

Music will be played throughout the afternoon before a special live performance from club member Joel Gardner.
