Alsager School's headteacher has praised students for an "abundance of top grades", saying many students have achieved a full suite of A*/A grades.

And she says their hard work, coupled with "the outstanding support from all staff", is reflected in their amazing achievements.

Andrea 0'Neill (pictured above) says her A-Level students have preserved through challenging times and their hard work has paid off.

She says a large number of students have secured places at top universities and apprenticeships.

Mrs O'Neill, Head of School, said: "Our students should feel extremely proud of their achievements, and they really do reflect the hard work that they put into their studies over the past two years.

"I am always amazed at the different pathways that our students take. It is fantastic to see them making the most of their opportunities, and I'd like to thank all staff and parents and carers who have made this all possible.

"We will miss the class of 2022, but we wish them all well for their future endeavours."

Three students have secured places at University of Oxford and University of Cambridge to study medicine and maths.

Popular university destinations this year are University of Liverpool, University of Manchester and University of Keele.

Sixth-form students have opted to study a wide range of subjects from psychology, business and German to ecology studies.

"We have a number of students who are starting degree apprenticeships with Barclays, Deloitte and BAE systems and students who have followed traineeships have secured employment in a wide range of settings, including retail and the motor industry," Mrs O'Neill added.
