Alsager scouts step out on 40 mile hike to raise money for Dougie Mac

Local cancer suffers are set to get a boost - thanks to adventure-loving scouts who put their best foot forward for charity.
Fifteen members of the Phoenix Explorers Alsager here took part in a 40-mile hike and walk in Staffordshire for the Dougie Mac charity.
The scouts set off on their walk and hike in the early hours of Saturday morning ( March 15th), finishing at between 10.30 pm and 11.30pm later that day.
Phoenix Explorer Scouts are aged 14-17 and meet every week for a variety of adventurous and social activities.

Every year they take part in this regional 40 mile hike around Cannock Chase (Chasewalk.org). Over the last 15 years of doing the hike, they ha e raised over £15,000 for local charities.
The scout group set up a JustGiving page here which is being closed on Friday (March 21st). Donations have already reached £1,230. The link to make a donation is here
A spokesperson from Phoenix Explorers said: "We were pleased to have taken another large explorer group from Alsager on the annual 40 mile Chase Walk and are grateful to all who are supporting the groups fundraising.

Well done to Phoenix Explorer Scouts!
