Alsager rocks as rain fails to dampen high spirits at this year's Alsager Carnival

By Deborah Bowyer 7th Jun 2025

The rain came down but the streets of Alsager were still awash with colour as the annual parade took to the streets today (Saturday).

Alsager's carnival, organised aby Alsager Round Table, is a big event for the town, and this year's event was as colourful as ever.

Floats and organisations were decorated and residents were dressed up as characters from all the populat TV childrens' shows in the fundraising event.

Alsager Community Theatre chose characters from 'Horrible Histories' including Henry VIII, Anne Boleyn and Queen Victoria.

Schools across the town and Corner House Nursery entered floats for the occasion, many carrying umbrellas to shield the rain.

Every year, the event raises hundreds of pounds for various groups and charities in the town.

The parade finished in Milton Park where a crowd gathered to take part in the afternoon's fun which included an array of stalls.

Chairman of Alsager Round Table and local radio presenter and DJ, Daz Antrobus kept the audience entertained with music and announcements.

The afternoon's dog show run by Alsager Animals in Need was also popular.
