Alsager pub closes temporarily for major refurbishment but will re-open before Christmas

Popular Alsager pub, The Wilbraham Arms, is temporarily closed for 'major refurbishment' and its previous operators have said a fond farewell to their customers.
An application for a single storey side and rear extension to replace an existing extension and to form a larger private dining area was recently approved by Cheshire East Council's planning department as can be viewed here
A spokesperson from Robinsons Brewery told Alsager Nub News: "The Wilbraham Arms has closed temporarily whilst we undergo a major refurbishment and investment on the site.
"We don't have a re-opening date yet, but we'd like to think it will be pre-Christmas."

The previous operators of the pub held a farewell event last Saturday (August 9th).
A Social Media post said: "We will then be closing our doors for the final time, we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that has supported us over the last 14 months, to all the live music acts that have provided us with great entertainment and to the amazing staff that have worked for us and made The Wilbraham Arms a fantastic place to be!
"This was only ever a 12 month contract before the big refurbishment takes place. At the moment we are unsure when it will re open but keep your eyes out for any social media updates.
"Thank you everyone again for your support and custom."
