Alsager Highfields Primary School headteacher scoops prestigious national award

The headteacher of Alsager Highfields Primary School has been recognised with a national award.
Rachel Woollam was a Bronze Winner in the category 'Headteacher of the Year in a Primary School' in the Teaching awards which includes nearly 21,000 primary schools throughout the UK.
And as part of the annual 'Thank a Teacher Day' on Wednedsday (18th June), Mrs Woollam was presented with her award.
Richard Middlebrook, CEO of The Cornovii Trust, which includes Highfields, made the presentation to Mrs Woollam at a surprise assembly, in front of the children and staff.
Mr Middlebrook said: "This award for Rachel is very well deserved. I am so pleased that the amazing work she has done, and is doing at Alsager Highfields, has been recognised at a national level.
"She is a truly inspirational school leader who cares deeply about every child and every member of staff at the school. It really is a privilege to work with Rachel and we are so lucky to have her working at Highfields and in our group of local schools."
Mrs Woollam said "I am truly humbled to have even been nominated for this award. To have been successful makes me incredibly proud.
"Headship is both a rewarding and challenging role, but I have been fortunate to have the unwavering support of colleagues, the trust, the parents and the local community.
"This has allowed me and the entire Alsager Highfields team to create a school where children thrive holistically.'
