Alsager family who organise an annual charity event raise bumper amount for cancer
Alsager residents who supported an annual charity event for a cancer charity, Lymphona Action, have helped raise more money than ever.
Harry Livingstone's dad, Paul, sadly died of lymphoma, a type of blood cancer that affects the lymphatic system and white blood cells called lymphocytes.
The father and son used to play in a 'lads and dads' football match every year during the festive period and Harry, a construction worker, has carried on the tradition but organising it for charity.
And this year's event raised the most yet, a bumper £3,400, taking the total amount raised by the former Alsager School student and his family to around £9,000.
Now Harry, who runs the event with his mum Gill and sister Jess, will soon be thinking about the next one and plans to make it even better than the one in 2024.
Harry said: "Thank you to absolutely everyone who came down to support this one, all the boys who played, spectators, refs, raffle donations and those who came for the after do! Together we raised £3400.
"All this will be donated to Lymphoma Action, in memory of my dad, for them to carry on the great work and research to help others! Couldn't do it without you all, what a day - big love, always."
Well done to Harry and his family for organising this annual event!
