St Mary Magdalene's Church in Crewe Road, Alsager has a new vicar.

The Rev Joe Smith has been appointed the vicar of the Parish of Alsager with Hassall Green.

The Rev Smith is currently serving as a Priest at St John the Baptist, Cardiff and Chaplain to Cardiff University.

St Mary Magdalene Church said on Social Media: "Rev Smith and his family will be moving to Alsager in July. The congregations of St Mary Magdalene and St Philip's are very much looking forward to welcoming them.

"We will be inviting everyone to join us for his licensing at St Mary Magdalene's church, on Monday 20th July at 7pm by Bishop Mark, Bishop of Chester."
