This Friday evening (28 June) will see the welcome return of the much-loved Alsager Beer and Gin Festival.

Now in its sixth year, the festival features a wide range of real ales and special gins, offering drinks and entertainment while raising money for charity.

The event takes place from 6pm this evening at Alsager Cricket Club.

This time, there are 20 real ales and 12 special gins, as well as what the organisers describe as 'normal' drinks from outside and inside bars.

In total, the festivals have raised £25,000 for local Alsager charities and associations.

Speaking to Nub News at an earlier festival, Alan Stancliffe, chairman of Alsager Cricket Club said: "Aided by a vast army of volunteers, we now dedicate time to this one off event which normally takes place between the carnival and the music festival."

The event organisers added: "It would be great to see you all at the largest back garden in Alsager. Families, dogs and all well behaved adults welcome."
