WE ARE SKY- Learning to Stand the Storm Sponsored Walk
Staffordshire/Peaks
Community Events
31st May 2025 - 1st Jun 2025
Saturday 31st May

WHEN?
Saturday 31st May/Sunday 1st June
WHERE?
Walking a total of 24 miles over the 2 days, each peak will represent a step in the journey toward emotional resilience and self-expression that I aim to instil in young people through the project. Over the course of the weekend, I hope to document the journey for my supporters and utilise the opportunity to reflect on my own emotional spectrum and connect with the great outdoors.
WHY?
WE ARE SKY: Learning to Stand the Storm is a new workshop designed to nurture emotional literacy in children and young people through creativity and self-expression.
Blending art, poetry and soundscapes with the natural world, the project is designed to be more than a lesson- it's an opportunity to reshape how we support mental well-being in education and the community.
We simply cannot just rely on our current system to develop emotional communication and support our children in becoming the next generation of problem solvers through kindness, empathy and understanding.
We have to be more radical.
We are seeking funding to bring WE ARE SKY to life. Your support will help us:
Develop high-quality creative resources for schools and museums
Facilitate workshops blending art, nature, emotional exploration and expression
Produce immersive soundscapes and poetry prompts with local artists
Ensure accessibility by subsidising costs for our underfunded schools
Gather input from teachers, parents and young people in Staffordshire
Pilot the project in a series of local schools this year

Thanks so much in advance- I appreciate all the support that I receive from our wonderful community.
Let's teach our young minds not just how to weather the storm but how to become still within it
