With an international artistic reputation grounded in a series of successful exhibitions held over the last 10 years, Ian Pearsall is perhaps best known locally for his dramatic views of Potteries landmarks, history and heritage, a large number of which were painted at the extensive studio in Longton where he worked for many years. However, he is also an accomplished painter of the beautiful North West Staffordshire and South East Cheshire countryside. Since moving to Maer several years ago, where he initially worked out of a unique studio converted from a former working stables which was surrounded by Victorian farm buildings, Ian has produced a rich and diverse catalogue of superb landscape paintings in a variety of colourful media, including paint, watercolour and ink drawings.
There are also six other artists on the walls, each unique in style, subject matter and media. Subjects are diverse, and the exhibition even includes work from as far away as Nigeria with artist Osinachi Okafor including a self portrait titled 'Bang.'
Stephen Henshall is showing his hugely characterful pen and watercolour drawings from a project in the making that concerns a historical walk undertaken by Neville Malkin in the 1970's of Staffordshire Architecture.
In a rather awesome collection there is the photography of Biddulph photographer Phil Shallcross which mixes the abstract with the unique eye of the artist within.
Two Doors Gallery is all about the Artists .. Everything in the building is unique and handcrafted. There is no mass production or cheap plastic imports here .. come and immerse yourself.
