The big switch on in Alsager is this weekend when the town will shine like a diamond.

But there's plenty of other events happening as well and Alsager Nub News has caught up with some.

press the black 'Nub It' button to get started. Here are our top event picks for the coming days: Saturday November 27th There's a chance to step back in time to the 1980s

with the 80's Dance Mania event at Alsager Civic. Ticket holders will be dragging out their glad rags and getting into the groove. The fun starts at 7.30 pm.

Earlier in the day Alsager Town Football Club take on St Martins FC at Wood Park. Kick-off is 3pm and tickets have to be paid for in cash at the ground.

Sunday November 21st

Today's the day … the town celebrates as the Christmas lights are switched on.

The event kicks off with a Christmas craft fair in the Civic Centre from 2pm with 35 stalls.

The lights will switched on by Santa Claus at 6pm.

There's live entertainment by the band Double Denim and there will be late night shopping with many businesses open and a selection of market stalls.

The road closure is from Lodge Road junction to Shady Grove and Bank Corner junction to the Cenotaph.
