Water company apologies to customers after homes left without water or suffered poor pressure

A utility company has revealed why Alsager residents were left without water or with poor pressure recently.
United Utilities say they responded to calls alerting them of no water or no pressure in the Alsager postcode, ST7 last Wednesday (April 30th).
They carried out a temporary fix thinking they would return on Sunday (May 4th) to fix it permanently but there were two further bursts in the meantime.
A United Utilities spokesperson said: "On Wednesday 30 April, our customer service team received calls relating to no water, or poor water pressure in the ST7 postcode.
"Once engineers arrived on site, a pressure management valve was found to be the issue. To ensure customers did not continue to experience low water pressure, we carried out a temporary fix to the valve with a view to return on Sunday (4th May) to provide a more permanent solution.
"However, there were two subsequent bursts in the area which were responded to quickly. These have now been fixed and the management valve is working correctly. We apologise for any inconvenience and thank residents for their patience."
